Marcel Christ Marcel Christ is a short film director and still life photographer from Amsterdam. I find Marcel Christ very unique and interesting to the way he approaches his photography,  his work some of the most recognizable in the industry. Marcel blends chemical engineering and photography in his photos to create powerful work. H e finds ways to give life to otherwise inanimate objects and immortalizes singular moments in time. There is nothing ‘still’ in his work. Everything moves, jumps and flies. That is why I chose this photographer as all his work interests me. I find this picture very interesting and it caught my eye as he tried to give a liquid "movement" by putting coloured liquid in water to give of this effect, almost like its "dancing" in the water. I think it's very unique as you can tell from before nothing is "still" in his images. This picture also caught my eye as it looks like the rose is almost "jumping" at you, Compare...

 

 

 

Today we had a look around outside and tried to find things with strong primary colours to take photographs off. Then we looked for analogous colours. Analogous colours are sets off colours that lie next to each other the colour wheel. Taking pictures of colours like this creates a feeling in the picture as you can tell from my second picture which is warm and creates a sense of comfort.  

 In todays lab session we had to put compositional tips that we covered in our composition lecture. I picked 6 photos that I feel followed the compositional design elements we needed for our lab submission.
