I find this picture very interesting and it caught my eye as he tried to give a liquid "movement" by putting coloured liquid in water to give of this effect, almost like its "dancing" in the water. I think it's very unique as you can tell from before nothing is "still" in his images.
This picture also caught my eye as it looks like the rose is almost "jumping" at you, Compared to the first picture this is more aggressive and the first picture is calm and soothing. I like the way in every photo he adds movement but in very different ways as you can tell from the first and second photo.
This photo is definitely my favourite out all of of these as he used a powder and an aggressive explosion on a rose to create this unique and powerful image. This image has a splash of surprise of the ingredients he works with but within a meticulously controlled studio environment.
In the Lab I learnt that the appearance of glass is determined by many of the same principles like metal, almost all of the reflection produced by glass is reflected back to the lens.
If we want to produce a picture that clearly and pleasingly reproduces glassware, we must produce strong lines along the edges of the subject, eliminate distracting reflections of the lights and other equipment we are using.
We can avoid most of the problems associated with edge definition by using bright field lighting and dark field lighting.
The choice of approach for lightning glass depends largely on the background. For bright background it is best to use bright field lightning and for dark background, Dark field lightning is best.
